An Ontario woman with breast cancer was recently controversially denied treatment with Herceptin.  (link to a comment from the woman affected.) Herceptin is very expensive and because her cancer was caught early and the tumour is small, it's not clear the treatment will be very effective in treatment or in preventing recurrence. When medical staff on Native reserves (in Manitoba) asked for basic health care items, like hand sanitizers and masks, given how hard hit they've been with Swine Flu, they were shipped 50 body bags.

It just boggles the mind that someone would do this, with no explaination to the Natives in question.
